Pretty good. I honestly bought this because my new phone's camera was a total POS (LG V20, if you're curious) and I really needed something to get pictures at a concert. The photos were definitely hit or miss - the vibration from the music seemed to distribute the camera occasionally. You definitely have to have very steady hands or good luck in low light. It does handle concert lighting well for a point and shoot. With that said, when the pictures did turn out well, they met or exceeded my expectations. The optical zoom was a great feature! Video is good quality, although the audio is fair to middling. But that's just to be expected at this price range. The purple color is striking in person - glad I picked it!

I ended up disliking that phone so much that I paid put of pocket for a replacement. The camera in my new phone is A++ as far a phone cameras go (and for casual users), so this Canon will honestly spend most of the rest of its life in a drawer. Still, if your phone camera sucks, this is a worthwhile replacement. In most areas, it really can't beat a top of the line smartphone camera (sometimes it can't even compete), but that optical zoom is pretty sweet. Photos included of the good and bad!

Ours only lasted 8 months. Memory card error. No mistreatment. Very surprised. We've had Canon before and had no problems. They just seemed to wear out. Sent to be repaired and after a couple problems with the repair department, they said it was out of warranty etc etc etc. they don't repair that problem, so they will replace it, may send us a refurbished one which we don't want! Maybe they will send a new one. I'll post next week when we get it. Maybe time to move back to Nikon.

Really disappointing in this camera. I have an earlier model that is a lot better. First if you did not hold down the shutter button long enough it would not take a picture. If you held it too long it took multiple pictures. I spent hours deleting duplicates and triplicates when i got home from my vacation. I could not find a way to turn that off! Also I turned the camera on and did not make any changes and found that the date was stamped on all of my photos for the day.

The camera depends upon only on wi-fi to download pictures. so you would think that canon would invest in keeping its software up to date. Unfortunately, its software does not work on two levels. First, it cannot connect to my wi-fi network, and second, even if it could, the software program it uses to download pictures does not load on my computer (Windows 10 found it incompatible and could not correct its "settings failed" message). What is worse, the manual gives incorrect instructions and if you follow them, they will continually knock you out of the program. Who ever wrote the instructions never tested to see if they worked! Plan on buying a sandisk reader or, better yet, another camera.

If you are not a tech, do not buy this camera. The "Getting Started" Guide does not provide usable instructions to connect to your wi-fi. I went to the Canon website & watched a YouTube video that seemed to work at the time, but now that I go back a second time I am unable to download my pictures . You have to download a manual to get even basic information on shooting a shot. When a camera makes you want to cry, it is too too much of a hassle.

No way to connect camera to the computer via a USB cable. WiFi is nice but it should not be the only way to transfer images and download software for the camera. I purchased this camera for work and our work place does not allow Wifi. It is considered an IT security risk. The web site description for this item needs to make is clear that WiFi is not an extra feature, it is the only way to use the camera. Now I have to return it.

I bought a Cannon ELPH well over 10 years ago and used it all the time. In the last year I started having some problems with it and because I loved it so much I purchased this one. The first thing I noticed is the craftsmanship of this camera. While it is significantly lighter and thinner than my first camera it is not made as well. The battery door is made so flimsy when I go to open it I'm afraid it will break off. Also the latch to keep the battery in place is cheaply made. The settings are time consuming to find what you want or need. And if you are an amateur photographer like me and want to learn how to use the settings you have to download the over 300 page manual. This is not convenient to be out taking pictures and have to drag a computer with you to read the manual. Whatever happened to getting the manual with the product? I just received this camera this month so haven't really had a chance to play yet. I did take some pictures, both inside and outside, and so far not overly impressed. Maybe once I learn all the settings and how to get to them I will change my mind. So far the verdict is this will be the last ELPH I will be purchasing!

Do not buy!... We have taken a lot of pictures with this camera and we are considering returning the camera. The auto setting seems not to focus correctly, the pictures are not crisp and clear. I would find a better camera at this price pint to handle the job. Maybe once you get into the settings the program setting is ok, but the others are useless. The night hand held setting is terrible and the other ones are not practical, toy? Or night time tri pod ( with a point and shoot) seriously!? Like the title says not the camera I hoped for at 20 megapixel. Pass on this one l. The battery life was terrible as well, even on 'Eco' mode you better have 2 batteries!
